Launching into the European market a product innovation in the form of medals with high-resolution spatial texturing of 2.5D and 3D printing based on own R&D work

Description

Can you imagine a sports competition, a contest or a festival without a medal ceremony? Probably not. And can medals be made using a technology other than casting? The company Modern Forms from Dobrzechów near Strzyżów has proved that it is possible. It conducted its own research and development work, and became the first one to adapt a technology used so far in printing to the process of making medals from steel and non-ferrous metals.

As part of the project a processing line for medal production and packaging was created. The company purchased, among other things, metal printers and a metal laser cutter, including relevant equipment and software for serial production. The developed technology enables the company to create clear 2.5D and 3D spatial structures. Medal production uses different materials (metal, plastic, wood), which can be combined to form any shape. Customers can choose from a full array of colours and tonal transitions (so far technologically unobtainable). Another advantage is customisation – each medal can have the name of the awarded person engraved on it even when there are several thousand participants. It takes four working days (with the market average of around four weeks) to produce medals of the highest quality representing a unique form and at a competitive price. No wonder Modern Forms has become a significant producer of medals in Europe and a rival for Chinese companies over a short period of time.

Modern Forms is guided by the concept “Think globally, act locally”. The company provides active support for local sports and charity initiatives. It invests in the development of its employees, the majority of whom live in the company’s immediate vicinity, providing them with a friendly workplace and access to training and overseas travel. It also focuses on developing regional economy by way of cooperating closely with local subcontractors and using components from Polish suppliers only.
