Increase in the international competitiveness of GC Energy by way of creating a mobile and stationary rapid response laboratory for industry
Description
The GC Energy company from Rzeszów can boast of 15 years of experience in providing services to strategic economic sectors, i.e. the petrochemical, power and telecommunications industries. The company’s employees construct safe installations in Poland and abroad, and then provide their servicing. GC-Calibron, i.e. a mobile rapid response laboratory, is the effect of this experience and a response to customer needs. It allows to carry out inspections in places where human presence is impossible or involves too much risk.
As part of the project, a mobile set consisting of two parts was created. The first part is a laboratory and inspection centre in a semi-trailer of a truck. The second one is made of specialist diagnostic and repair modules. Depending on the situation, a module can arrive with the laboratory part or by a separate means of transport. The laboratory is provided with the latest measuring and diagnostic equipment. The modules, in turn, are equipped with devices and tools tailored to specific tasks, such as service and repair of valves, calibration of control and measurement instruments or repair works. Having arrived at the place of failure, the company’s employees determine the cause of the problem, fix the defect and re-certify the devices.
The company’s strength is the ability to predict potential failures. ‘We do our best to make our customers realise that prevention is better than repair. In strategic sectors uninterrupted supply is essential, as a serious failure means losses not only for the supplier, but also for the whole economy,’ explained Stanisław Głodowski, the co-owner of GC Energy and the originator of the project. The company’s employees can precisely define the durability of individual devices or structural elements, and recommend them for servicing or changing before a failure happens.
